Sourbon Kitchen & Bar is located in West Palm on Clematis Street. I found out about the restaurant through Instagram and knew I had to visit and try it out.
I made reservations for a girl’s night through OpenTable. To get an idea of the food items and prices I checked out the menu directly on their website.
As far as parking, there are a few garages or if you are feeling adventurous you can take the trolley. Personally, we parked sort of far but we got to walk the surrounding streets which we normally wouldn’t have done if we parked so close by.
Not knowing how long it would take to get to the restaurant because of traffic on a Friday night I was late for our reservation. This is very unlike me because I am big on planning and being on time but my Latina gal was running late LOL. I called the restaurant and let the hostess know I was running close to 15 mins late and she was kind enough to understand and moved my reservation from 630pm to 645pm.
I’m not very familiar with Clematis Street but I loved the lights hanging over the long street and so many surrounding restaurants and shops to explore.
My friend and I entered the restaurant and were greeted with welcoming smiles by the hostess and manager. She seated us at our table and I was memorized by the greenery and beautiful lights throughout the restaurant. Honestly, the restaurant was so much more beautiful than in the photos.
It was like you were eating in an indoor garden but at night filled with dreamy lights.
I couldn’t stop looking at all the details throughout the restaurant-- the wallpaper, the decor, and the colorful furniture. We started off with drinks-- I ordered one of my favorite drinks-- Strawberry Mojito and it was very refreshing. Fun fact about me I usually always go with a Strawberry Mojito unless another fruity drink catches my eye.
Our server was very friendly and recommended some of her favorites. We ordered the Tuna Tartare, Buratta and shared the Dinosaur Kale with Fried Shrimp. OMG! SO GOOD! I wish I was eating all of them right now while writing this blog post.
The food was full of flavor, juices and at that moment we knew this restaurant won our hearts. I'm a sucker for girls' nights because it’s where we can catch up, talk about life, our goals, and dreams but mainly enjoy good company over yummy food. Any girls can relate? Also, this restaurant is perfect for a special date night or a night out with friends.
Adding to this blogpost months later:
Crazy to think I was literally at this restaurant in Feb. of 2020 a month before the world shut down and now I’m here again wearing a mask. I came back and booked a reservation for a friend’s birthday and they’ve never been there so I was excited for them to experience it! We sat at a booth and got a round of drinks --- I ordered the Lychee Sangria and let me tell you, it was so fruity and delicious, everything I never knew I wanted in a drink.
We also shared appetizers: Bruschetta Trio, Charcuterie Plate, Tuna Tartare, and the Meatballs La Sourbon. We loved everything and ordered the Coffe Crème brûlée. I was surprised to find out they only have two options for dessert---- Tiramisu and Coffee Crème brûlée. If you’re looking to continue the night after dinner there is a speakeasy with bar seating and small tables on the second floor next to the bathroom entrance.
Thank you Sourbon for a great night, see you again soon!
