Our first experience with Pelican Grand Beach Resort was for my husband's birthday in June. We originally wanted to go to The Keys but we didn't think we would have enough time since we mainly wanted to do a mini staycation since his birthday was on a Wednesday during the middle of the week and we didn't know how the weather would be like as well #floridaweather what's new LOL!
Sitting directly on the Atlantic Ocean, Pelican Grand Beach Resort boasts breathtaking views and instantly surrounds guests with a sense of old Florida grandeur. From elegant beachfront dining at OCEAN2000 or a ride in our Lazy River, our 500-foot private beach resort is the perfect setting for families, groups, or a romantic getaway.
We booked an Ocean Front King Suite the room was beautiful, very modern, and elegant. Walking into the room I could not believe I was in Fort Lauderdale and the view from the balcony was truly like no other. All the wooden ascends, neutral colors, and pops of color made the boho vibes feel like we were in The Keys and I loved every moment of it.
From the moment we pulled into Valet, to checking in to the front desk we were greeted by the friendly staff and everyone was wearing masks due to COVID restrictions. We felt very safe and comfortable staying at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort. We could already tell that our stay was going to be one to remember. We took the guest elevator to our suite and were amazed to see that the hallways were all outdoors and had an atmosphere that reminded me of another resort that we stayed at on the West Coast of FL.
After we got settled into our room, we took a tour of the Resort, and truly there is so much to do and see during your time here! One of my favorites was the Emporium Gift Shop which includes gelato, pastry, and a coffee station. Make sure to check it out! Already planning on going back to try the banana dulce de leche, YUM! As well as, Pelican Grand logo'd appareal, jewelry items, and anything you would need for your trip (pool floats, sun spray, coverups, and so much more.)
We made our way to the pool where we were welcomed by our attendant Brian Brown with a warm genuine welcome. He set us up for success at the pool and then he pointed out there was a lazy river! Just when we thought it couldn't get any better. Who doesn't love a lazy river? I know I do! We spent most of our time laying out by the pool, floating in the lazy river, and sipping on delightful cocktails. I had the Peach Daiquiri, mhmmm so good! Nothing compares to a daiquiri on a beautiful sunny day! Brian brought us a menu from O2K Lounge and we ordered lunch by the pool--- I got the Spicy Ahi Tuna Tacos and my husband ordered the Tropical Nachos which were pulled pork nachos and this delicious pineapple salsa which he almost licked the plastic box it came in! He still raves about them to this day!
After looking like straight-up bacon from laying out in the sun for 6 hours LOL we went back up to our suite to relax and take a nap before dinner. A few hours later, we heard a knock on the door from one of the bellmen delivering us a sweet treat to celebrate my husband's birthday. Wow! We were shocked at the service and detail from the staff. It sure was a memory we will never forget! Also, the lava cake and ice cream were the perfect combo to eat in bed!
We made reservations at Ocean 2000 and this birthday dinner was amazing! From the food to the wine all the way up to dessert! Our server recommended the Dragon Berry Mojito and it was delicious and the perfect cocktail! Michael went with a Robert Mondavi Cab, which was a deliciously smooth and full body Cab. He loves Cab! We split the caesar salad which was the perfect portion to share. I choose the Seafood Risotto which had beautiful prawns, lobster, and scallops and Michael ordered the Wagyu Ribeye with Truffle Mac n Cheese which he says was honestly one of the best pieces of steak he's ever had! We had to order a wheel barrel to bring us up back to our room LOL!
Even though we were here only for one day and one night our experience was worth remembering, and in this time of a lot of unknown, I know that I could come back and enjoy this mini stay-cation any time I want!

Wow is right! I don't where you can get all of those amazing resort amenities and pay only $35! Was it worth it?! Heck yeah! I got an email confirmation the day before and checked in at the front desk and were given wristbands to wear to show that we were Resort Pass guests. We decided to hang out by the pool and we were greeted by the one and only Brian Brown! He even remembered me from my first staycation and provided us with amazing service!
Since it was my mom's birthday, they gave her a complimentary drink card which was so sweet and they did not have to! Seriously, the staff really do love and enjoy what they do and it shows! We got ordered the Passion Fruit Margarita and Hurricane Cocktail --- both refreshing but be careful because it hits you after a little so drink lots of water.
A few hours into the day, we went to the private beachfront and the views were so calm and memorizing! The water was so clear and turquoise blue. We ordered lunch on the beach and shared the Margherita Flatbread and Spicy Ahi Tuna Tacos. So much flavor and just the perfect cuisine to munch on at the beach.
