Why did I rebrand?
A little backstory for you… In March of 2022, I quit my full-time job to pursue my passion for social media. It wasn’t long until this passion for social media evolved into a full-time business where I was my own boss! As this business began growing and I established connections with other creatives, I knew that a re-brand was in my near future.
I had a vision for my business and the voice I wanted to portray to my potential clients. A website is the front door to who you are as a business owner and trust me when I say that a lot of work went into finding the perfect graphic and website designer to make my vision a reality.
I vividly remember sitting in one of my favorite local coffee shops, Carmela Coffee, trying to accomplish some work-related tasks but grew distracted in searching Instagram for potential web designers! I would consider myself a perfectionist who likes having her tasks done like yesterday so you could only imagine how eager I was to begin this re-brand.
If you are just starting out in the world of web-development, it can be extremely intimidating. It can be very discouraging when your current website and/or blog is not inspiring to you or does not match the vision and direction of your business. It wasn’t that I didn’t love my blog when I first started in this industry, it was just that my blog at the time didn’t showcase the services I was working on offering to potential brands and clients in the way I had hoped it would.
My dream website and photographer
I am so incredibly grateful I found Elizabeth Mccravy who offers Showit templates that are so user-friendly. It was through Elizabeth and the Showit template I purchased from her that I was able to design and create my DREAM website. Click *here* to shop her templates. Use code "FRAN10" for 10% off EM Shop.
One of the beauties of Social Media is the connections that can be made with other creatives. I had been following MSP Photography on Instagram for some time and their style of photography was one that I felt was very “on brand” for my business. I then created a timeline for myself (because like I said above, I am a perfectionist, and checking tasks off my to-do list gives me such a sense of accomplishment). After finalizing my timeline, I sent MSP Photography an inquiry for a photo branding session. It wasn’t long before David and I had a Zoom call where it was confirmed that MSP Photography was a business who would slay the vision I had for my mini-branding session!
If you couldn’t tell by now, I am a planner! Whether it’s outfit inspiration, event and party planning (check out my Fransgiving blog post), or photography inspiration, Pinterest is my go to! I would highly recommend putting together a Pinterest board to help visualize your goals for whatever it is you’re planning.
Having a playlist with songs to hype you up is something extra but it did help ease any nerves I had going into my mini session. It was almost like having your best girl friends in the background hyping you up while being photographed!
Props and items I used
It is so very important to make a list of everything you need prior to your branding session. The morning of your session should be spent pampering yourself, not stressing about forgetting something! You want to make sure that you have everything in order to help bring your vision to life!
One of the many reasons I would recommend MSP Photography is because they have a studio designed as an office space that you can use for your branding session which fits my vision perfectly! Below is a list of items that I brought with me to help personalize the space.
- Mini plants
- Journals
- Laptop
- Phone case
- Bible and bible studies
- Yeti tumbler
- Camera
- Gold folder organizer
- Candle
- Logo frame
- Photos for frames on the wall
I am a big believer in “treat yourself” and I would encourage you to do the same for your branding session! I cannot recommend Hair&MakeupIdo more. She absolutely slayed the look for my branding session and provided a relaxing environment for me to feel pampered before my shoot. For my nails, I went with the classic OPI’s Funny Bunny which gave the photos an extra touch of professionalism.
My reaction to the photos
The turnaround time from MSP Photography really amazed me. Within two weeks I received my gallery! This was a plus for me considering the timeline I had made for myself. I was able to choose the photos I wanted for my re-brand with the option to purchase additional photos. I strongly believe your relationship with your photographer is so important and will determine how confident you feel when being photographed. I am in love with how the photos turned out! MSP Photography really captured the vision I had for my re-brand! Check out my first blog post when I originally launched my blog!
