This newer outdoor rooftop restaurant is located in downtown West Palm Beach with the only waterfront view in the area. Open since February of 2020, the dining experience is one that you makes you feel like you are far away from home.
Spruzzo has a mix of Italian and Mediterranean tapas and dishes. Spruzzo is located on the 8th floor of The Ben Hotel and attached is a clear glass concept elevator that allows you to see through as you’re going up to the restaurant. Pretty cool feature if you ask me. As you’re driving up you have the option of valet parking or parking in the garage on the corner of Banyan Blvd walking distance of the hotel.
Once you step out of the elevator, you are welcomed by the hostess with sanitization at your disposal to ensure the safety of the customers. As of now, they are not taking reservations for parties of 8 or less so it is first come first serve. I would definitely recommend coming early if you want preferred seating.
The restaurant has a variety of seating options such as regular 4 top tables, outdoor patio furniture seating with a view of the intercoastal, high-top table seating or some smaller cocktail tables, and of course bar seating if you want to enjoy the bar atmosphere.
A great choice for an outing with a group of friends or date night with your wifey or hubby. The music is always popping so you’re guaranteed a great time!
I’ve been to Spruzzo on two different occasions and the menu has delicious items for both lunch and dinner. My first time going was in August for a friend Tenille’s birthday we were a party of 4 and at the time they were taking reservations.
We sat at one of the square top tables and our server was the sweetest soul and gave us the best experience--- we brought balloons and she took the time to tape it to the glass so they would stay still since they had large fans on to cool down the tables since it was so hot out.
Usually, I’ll take a peek at the website before to have an idea of what is on the menu. As soon as I saw the Ibiza Sangria I knew I had to try it---- another of my favorite drinks. Side note, if you’re a sangria lover like myself you can also try the White Sangria at Sundy House in Delray they have a refreshing one, check out the blog post here.
The four of us started with a round of the Ibiza Sangria and OMG it was so good! We then shared the Crispy Manchego Cheese Bites and I had the Lobster Roll Sliders as my entree. My first time trying a lobster roll and I was very impressed.
Our server offered us to try the new Cantaloupe & Campari popsicle cocktail to celebrate the birthday girl and it did not disappoint! Perfect for a summer day! I believe customer service is very important and not just doing the bare minimum but those small details that leave you speechless. Our server allowed us to have a great experience which is why I knew it would be a place to come back to!
My second visit was this past weekend with my friend Carolina and this time I choose to sit near the terrace overlooking the waterfront view. We got there around 1130am which was a perfect time so we were able to pick where we wanted to sit. It definitely is a popular restaurant and gets busy quickly so keep that in mind.
Both times the weather was absolutely beautiful but it can get hot if you’re sitting directly in the sun so flowy outfit pieces might be better than jeans for example. We took lots of pictures and even our server was playing the photographer role so if you’re into getting content for the gram---- this is the place for you! After, we realized we were getting direct sun so our server moved an umbrella over our table to give us some shade which definitely helped! We got the Ibiza Sangria’s and it was even yummier than I remembered LOL. We shared the cheese bites, peel & eat shrimp, and tuna tartare.
Everything was delicious but I would definitely say this restaurant is a little more on the pricey side compared to other restaurants on the blog.
Planning on booking a stay at The Ben in the summer because of the great experiences I’ve had and the rooftop pool and cabanas would be so relaxing. The interior and design of the hotel are so unique and beautiful.
Once you take the elevator downstairs I recommend popping your head into the lobby and snap a few photos inside, you can thank me later (wink wink)I will definitely share my staycation with you all as well!
