The one and only JB&C Juice Bar & Cafe is finally being introduced on my blog! Ahhh, this cafe has a special place in my heart because I’ve been going there for a few years now. Not only is it the cutest cafe, but, I’ve yet to see anything similar to this in South Florida. As soon as you walk in you’re greeted by the pop of bright colors, fun wallpaper, lots of greenery,  and a mix of boho and farmhouse vibes.

I typically get the same thing every time I go there because it is so good LOL which is the Farmer’s Toast and Berry Happy acai bowl. It is a must, my friend! This combination is so delicious!

“YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD STOP FOR JUICES, SMOOTHIES, ACAI BOWLS, AVOCADO TOAST, PANINIS, SALADS & GOOD VIBES”

JB&C is located off N Flagler Drive in Fort Lauderdale open 7 days a week, check out their website for more details and the full menu! The staff is so welcoming and makes you feel like this is the place to stay.

Perfect cafe if you’re on the go, looking for a place to study, dine in, or catching up with a friend. Whatever the reason is you’ll love it there! I had the sweet pleasure of meeting Amanda, the owner, at a women’s entrepreneur event through an organization called Hatch.

She is such a boss babe and loved hearing how her baby (JB&C) came to life. She is very active in the cafe and you’ll see her frequently at work or watering the beautiful plants!

I shared some sweet memories here--- a place where I’ve had conversations with new friends and good friends, planned goals for the next year, had meetings regarding new business ideas and wedding planning! I’ve introduced a handful of people to this cafe actually LOL!

Feel free to grab a book and read in their cozy corner that they always incorporate seasonal decorations such as pillows and other props. Recently I tried their Caprese Panini and Berry Happy smoothie to get something different for once LOL I am convinced the Caprese Panini is the best one I’ve had yet!

I love sandwiches and I can’t believe it’s my first time trying it, so much flavor and taste! Their immunity shot is also not too bad I had it the weekend quarantine was announced, you could never be too safe at that time.

I decided to do my first Q&A on the blog with the one and only Amanda, owner of JB&C! Check it out:

Q&A:

  • What is your favorite item on the menu?

Oooo, it is impossible to pick just one, as I have a favorite item in each category! A few of them being: Hemp Power Smoothie (I always add green spirulina!) Very Berry Acai Bowl (favorite acai bowl hands down of all time) Superseed Avocado Toast, Citrus Quinoa Salad (with Chickpea Avocado Mash on top - sooo good!) and of course our Chickpea Avocado Panini if I’m feeling famished! Oh, and you can pretty much always catch me with a Spicy Lentil Empanada in hand haha

  • What was your inspiration with JB&C?

My inspiration with JBC was to create a beautiful and inviting space where our community could gather to enjoy fresh, healthy food. A place that feels like home, somewhere you will run into people you know, maybe stumble upon someone to collaborate with on a project or health goal, and of course a place where you can count on consistently delicious food and friendly interactions from the people making it for you.

  • If you could choose any other career what would it be?

This is a great question and quite a tricky one as I have many passions/ interests… maybe a Naturopathic Doctor (if I could stomach the schooling), Artist, Spiritual Teacher, or Fine Jeweler.

  • Do you plan on expanding JB&C and if yes, where would you expand?

I have always planned to expand JB&C and was in the process of signing a lease in Boca just days before the Covid lockdowns began in 2020. This change of events was a blessing in disguise, and I’m happy to have been solely focused on our Fort Lauderdale location over the past challenging year. I do believe I’m ready to begin looking for a second location again, my eye is on Plantation / Davie / or Miami Beach!

  • Did you choose the menu items?

I did create the overall menu concept for JBC; I knew what staple items that I wanted in each category and I also knew what was lacking in options for our community. With that said, I had help from an amazing executive chef (Chef Jeremy Powell) to help piece it all together and make sure everything was a home run. That was always my goal, somewhat of a small menu, but items worthy of a cult following!

  • If you change or replace one thing about JB&C what would it be?

This is unfortunately an easy one! If I could change one thing about JBC, I would make the damn kitchen bigger! Haha, Ohhhhhh the limitations I created for myself and our menu by not doing a full buildout to expand the kitchen. And I would also have to add not doing an extensive coffee program from the start (but stay tuned, that is in the works!)

  • True or false: you’ve tried every item on the menu?

False, I have not tried the Turkey Pesto or Healthy Chicken Parm Paninis as I do not eat meat (8 years, some of those years vegan / some years vegetarian / and now pescatarian) but, everything else, yes I have had it all! 🙂 This was originally a really hard decision for me to overcome when we were creating the menu (I had two partners at the time) I was pushing for a plant-based restaurant and they weren't agreeable. In the end, I’m actually happy with how the menu turned out and I have become so much more loving/open / accepting over the years regarding people making their own informed decisions for their health and wellbeing.

  • Is there a food item that was removed from the menu due to the least customer favorite?

Yes, I did actually remove a Roasted Veggie Panini that was on the original menu; it was the most difficult and time-consuming item to make, and we were doing extra prep for this one single item that wasn’t being ordered enough. Everything else has stayed and become crowd favorites!

  • Any new items or something special coming to JB&C this next year?

Funny you should ask that; I am doing a little menu refresh/update as we speak. Modifying a couple of items, and definitely, some new things to come for JBC this year: wraps (I know, finallyyyyyy) a full coffee program, some seasonal menu items, and something super fun, a healthy BANANA SPLIT (which will of course be very Instagram- worthy!)
